Series 1 — Core Climate Science

The original podcasts, now becoming illustrated videos.

Series 1 began as sixteen short audio podcasts explaining the essential climate science for children and families. Those original episodes are available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts and are now being released as lightly illustrated videos on YouTube and Spotify, designed for classroom screening in Years 5 and 6.

Each episode is about 12 minutes long and introduces one important idea, starting with the difference between weather and climate and why the Earth is warming. Follow the episodes in order to build the foundations for the questions explored in Series 2.

The website brings together video links, quizzes, discussion prompts, Belle’s Question, teacher notes and scientific sources. Printable A4 classroom illustration packs are available for all sixteen Core episodes. All resources are free, with no registration required.

Core Episodes 1–4 are available now as illustrated videos on YouTube and Spotify. Episode 3, Ancient Carbon: Where CO₂ Comes From, is available for its 6 October release. Episode 4 is already publicly visible ahead of its formal programme date of 13 October. The programme below retains all scheduled dates unchanged.

Series 2 — What Happens Next?

Eight new questions that go beyond the basics.

Series 2 is a set of new, approximately 12-minute video podcasts. Each one follows the relevant Series 1 science and explores what it means in practice—from limiting warming and producing cleaner energy to fairness, health, adaptation and what communities can do together.

The episodes can be used for teacher-led classroom viewing or listening or explored at home with a parent or carer. Series 2 is available in video and audio: videos on YouTube and Spotify, and audio on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Episode 1 is available now; the remaining episodes follow the programme below.
